Without Trucks, the World Stops

Trucks are a crucial part of our society. They transport all the goods everyone needs, day in, day out. In today’s blog, we are going to explore the supply chain and how it works.

The Origin

First, foods are grown on a farm. The seeds are transported via trucks from a seed farm to a packaging plant, then taken to a warehouse. A truck will pick up the seeds and transport it either straight to a farm or to a store.

Everything else needed for the farm is transported via truck, too, from fertiliser to pesticide. Once the food is grown, it is transported to another warehouse or straight to a market via truck. From the warehouse to the shop, another truck is employed.

Other goods are first created from minerals or wood, which is transported to a smelter or mill. Then the metals or milled wood are transported to another warehouse, which is then the supply point for more trucks to take the product to their next destination.

International Transport

Trucks also take goods from their warehouses to ports, where the goods are loaded into containers, loaded onto ships, transported across the ocean, where it is loaded onto another truck.

Sometimes trains are employed to move bulk goods from a port or other location, then trucks are used to transport the goods to a warehouse. Trucks are also used to transport heavy goods to building sites, or for domestic uses like moving furniture.

They transport goods across the land to remote destinations, and spread much needed goods all across the world from their supply points to every city and town.

Trucks are working for you 24/7 – the vast majority of your food and possessions have been handled by the hardworking folks in the trucking industry multiple times.

So when you’re on the road next, or buying food in the supermarket, remember that it’s all thanks to truck drivers – without trucks, the world stops.
